Soekarno-Hatta Jakarta International Airport (CGK)
Situated on the island of Java, just west of Jakarta, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (SHIA) is an important regional aerial hubs and worldwide. Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is the 16th busiest airports worldwide and in 2010 SHIA served 44 million passengers.
With three terminals housing many passenger amenities including restaurants, cafés, shops and duty-free zones, SHIA is set to expand even further to include a fourth terminal building and a general refurbishment of all existing terminals. This constant development ensures that SHIA is always striving to offer passengers as smooth an experience as possible.
Location
The airport is situated 12 miles (20km) north west of Jakarta.
Getting to the city
Shuttle buses run hourly to the city centre and various other destinations in and around Jakarta. Taxis are metered and cost around Rp 30,000 to the city; note that road tolls may be added to the fare.

Car rental
Avis, Hertz and Europcar are represented at the airport, along with a number of local car rental companies. Airport Taxis Official taxi booths are located in the arrival terminal, also where a host of unofficial taxi drivers vie for business with varying prices. Metered taxi's cost about Rp 30,000 although extra may be charged for toll road fees. Depending on traffic the 12 miles (20km) trip to the city centre will take between 30 and 45 minutes.
Transfer between terminals
A free bus connects the two terminals.
Facilities
Facilities are limited but the airport is clean and the staff are friendly and efficient. There are shops, banks, bars and restaurants, and tourist information and hotel reservations at the airport. There are facilities for disabled travellers; passengers with special needs are advised to inform their airline in advance.
Parking
There are over 2000 parking bays at SHIA, all within easy access of the terminals. Rates start at IDR 4000 for 2 hours and IDR 2000 per hour thereafter. Departure Tax Rp 150,000 (international), Rp 40,000 (domestic)
