Duanwu Festival is celebrated to commemorate the sacrifice of a legendary Chinese poet, Qu Yuan, who drowned himself as an attempt to oppose the rulers and stop corruption. It is celebrated by Chinese people as well as people of Chinese origins in certain Asian countries.

Mid-Autumn Festival is a famous harvest festival when Chinese and Chinese descendants people gather with all family members to watch the bright full moon while eat moon cakes, rectangular pastries with various kinds of fillings, and drink Chinese tea together. It is a public holiday in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.

National Day of People’s Republic of China 2013

Two ‘Golden Weeks’ – a whole week holiday – occurs in China every year. Just like the previous years, the Golden Week in China Public Holiday 2013 will happen during the Spring Festival and the National Day. The government regulate 3 legal days of holiday for each event, but the workers will usually get a whole week holiday.
