Top 8 Places to Visit in US

There is no doubt that tourist attractions in the US such as Las Vegas, New York City, Yellowstone National Park, and the Grand Canyon are without a doubt, some of the most visited places in the USA.

There are of course many more other great places you can visit in the US and everyone has their own favorite spots. My favorite places in the country are, in no particular order, as follows:

1. The Outer Banks

The Outer Banks (OBX) is definitely one of my top 10 places to visit in the US as it’s home to breathtaking scenery and some of the most beautiful beaches in the US.

The Outer Banks are also one of the top summer destinations in the US for families, couples and everyone else as the Outer Banks boasts touristy areas such as Nags head, and quite spots such as Hatteras Village where you can enjoy a peaceful vacation.

2. Big Sur

Big Sur is without a doubt, one of the most popular and stunning stretches of coast along the California Coast, and another of my top 10 places to visit on the US.

Driving through Big Sur along Highway 1 is surely the best way to experience its enchanting beauty and enjoy the beaches such as Pfeiffer Beach where you cane enjoy a bit of swimming and surfing.

3. Mackinac Island
Michigan is one of my all-time favorite states in the US not only because of Detroit’s attractions and western Michigan beaches, but also for places such as Mackinac Island which is one of my top 10 places to visit in the US.
The beautiful Victorian houses and the horse-drawn carriages all add to the experience in the island. This is why visiting Mackinac Island is one of the top things to do in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, especially during the Lilac Festival where you can witness one of the most amazing horse-hitch parades you’d ever see!

4. Redwood Country
Redwood Country is located in northern California and it’s another of my top 10 places to visit in the US as it’s home to some of the tallest trees on the planet.
That’s right folks! Redwood Country is home to the famous Redwood (Sequoia)Trees, pristine scenery and great outdoor spots such as Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, Avenue of the Giants and Richardson Grove where you can enjoy camping, picnicking, hiking, etc.

5. Wisconsin Dells
Wisconsin Dells is another of my favorite Midwestern destinations that I have to add to my list of top 10 places to visit in the US because of the amazing water parks resorts such as Wilderness Waterpark and Noah’s Ark waterpark.

Visiting the waterparks is surely one of the most popular things to do in the Midwest and one of best things you can do with family or friends for a fun summer vacation in Midwest region.

6. Southern Maine
There are surely hundreds of great beach vacation spots in the US such as southern California, New Jersey Shore and Florida, but southern Maine is for me one of the top places to visit in the US for a nice beach vacation.

What I love about southern Maine beaches is that beaches such as Pine Point Beach and Fort Williams are fairly secluded so you can almost have them all to yourself to enjoy romantic sunsets.

7. Oregon Coast
The Oregon Coast is another beautiful place that I have to mention on my list of top 10 places to visit in the US. The Oregon Coast has to be one of the most popular spot for an summer vacation on the west coast as there are lots of inexpensive motels and cottages that you can rent out.

Pacific Highway 101 also runs the entire length of the Oregon Coast so you can enjoy lovely scenic drives and road trips and visit places such as Cape Meares Lighthouse, and Tillamook’s cheese and air museum.

8. Mojave Desert
The Mojave Desert is another destination on my list top 10 places to visit in the US that I’d really recommend doing. The Mojave is breathtaking place and it’s one of the best places to visit in the United States to experience desert life and enjoy desert pursuits such as:

-hiking in the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve
-rock climbing in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
-wildlife spotting in the Virgin River Gorge in Zion National Park
-check the natural oasis in Warm Springs Natural Area
-Strange rock formations such as Skull Rock in Joshua Tree national park
-watersports and swimming in Lake Mead reservoir, which is just 20 miles from Las Vegas “Sin City” Nevada.
